I’ve had the Tedra skirt from Everyday Style on my list for some time now. This weekend I was able to sneak in a little sewing time. It felt so good after being away for a few weeks.
I’m really pleased with how it turned out. I think the simple bias construction is very clever. It’s just two pieces with an invisible side zipper.
I’ve never done a waistband this way before. The book calls for Petersham ribbon. We don’t carry that type of ribbon so I used our 1” wide twill tape. I think it worked great.
The fabric I used is this pretty green shot cotton. Because this skirt is cut on the bias I think you could use just about any type of fabric for your skirt. Chambray, quilting cotton, twill, linen, corduroy, wool; these are all good options.
It's no secret that I love this book! (Check out the other blog posts here and here.) I've now made each of the garments. I'd still like to make another pair of Owyn pants and a dress length Kiomi. And there are really cute bags in here too! So many reasons to keep sewing!!
