Stack It Table Runner

Today we have a new FREE pattern for you! I put this simple table runner together because I really wanted an easy, go to project to make for friends and family. Something that doesn't require a lot of thought or time. This means that my desire to make things for the people I love actually happens! No barriers = a finished gift to give.

The table runner uses a simple rail fence block as inspiration. We've worked out all the math and dimensions for you so we know it works. Just 6 coordinating fat quarters will make the top and binding! (And we'll help you pick those too!)

Quilting doesn't have to be hard. This is my mantra. I firmly believe it and I want you to too! I shared how I kept the baby Strip Quilt quick and easy here.

I'm always looking for ways to make a project quicker and easier. For this one I cut all of my strips on the Accuquilt die cutter. You can too! Just bring your fabric back to the classroom, give them a spray with Best Press to stabilize the fabric, and run them through the machine. We'll show you how! You'll be ready to start sewing in minutes!

I made a simple back with 5/8 yard + 1 fat quarter and kept the quilting very simple.

This runner works great for any holiday or for everyday. We are always putting together bundles of 6 fat quarters, so stop in and grab a couple so you can have them on hand when you need them. It will be your new go-to gift for the holidays, birthdays or just because!

Just the details

Finished Size: 16" x 48"

What you need

  • 6 fat quarters for the top & binding

  • 5/8 yard + 1 fat quarter for the back (3 fat quarters works great too)

  • 5/8 yard batting

Not comfortable quilting yet? Not to worry. You can piece the top and then put canvas on the back. Simply cut the canvas to size, layer the top and canvas right sides together, sew leaving a hole on one side, turn right side out, top stitch all the way around the runner.

Happy Quilting!

Connie
