Connie finished this dress up just in time to wear to Junk Market on June 1st, but sadly it was way too cold for it to see the light of day! Thankfully it has warmed up a bit since then. The Washi Dress is a pattern by Rae Hoekstra of Made-by-Rae. It's been really popular online and has gotten rave reviews.
Connie thought the pattern was well written and straightforward. The back of the dress features shirring. Shirring is done by using elastic thread in the bobbin of your sewing machine. This was Connie's first time with shirring, but she said it was really simple and shouldn't scare you away from this pattern!
The best part of this dress? The pockets! What could be better than a cute comfortable dress with pockets! Connie has been crazy about the Taxi Cab print since we first got it in. She thought it would be fun to show how versatile a fun print can be.
