We are so excited to finally share with you our latest pattern - a super quick and easy reversible and lined drawstring bag! And it's a video! Now, I'm sure we haven't necessarily reinvented the wheel here, but we think this method is pretty great.
Here's what you'll need for supplies:
2 coordinating non-directional fabrics (see bag sizes below for amounts)
Twill tape for the drawstring (you could also use ribbon, bias tape, rope, braided yarn, etc!)
Iron and ironing board
Sewing machine and thread
Hand sewing needle
Pins
Point turner
Cutting tools
Safety pin
Sewing gauge
Sample Bag Sizes & Cut Yardage
Small Bag = 8" wide x 8" tall - Cut size = 9" x 20-3/4" (Purchase two 1/4 yards of fabric)
Medium Bag = 10-1/2" wide x 11-1/4" tall - Cut size = 11-1/2" x 27-1/4" (Purchase two 1/3 yards of fabric)
Large Bag = 13-1/2" wide x 14" tall - Cut size = 14-1/2" x 32-3/4" (Purchase two 1/2 yards of fabric)
Twill Tape = 2 pieces that are each 2 times the finished width + 8"
Small Bag = 48" total
Medium Bag = 58" total
Large Bag = 70" total
This bag is really easy to customize sizes to fit any gift! Here's the math to figure it out...
Decide how big you want the finished bag to be.
Cut fabric size = finished width + 1" by (finished height x 2) + 4-3/4"
Easy right? Hope you enjoy our video tutorial! Any questions just shoot us an email at salutations@moderntextiles.net or stop in the shop!
